Bien que la viviparit\u00e9 des fleurs ait \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e depuis longtemps, laissant penser que cette vari\u00e9t\u00e9 pourrait \u00eatre \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de la viviparit\u00e9 chez les n\u00e9nuphars rustiques, on consid\u00e8re aujourd&rsquo;hui qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un cultivar issu de &lsquo;Mexicana&rsquo;.<\/span><br \/>\n<span dir=\"auto\">Autrefois, on disait que cette plante prosp\u00e9rait dans des milieux o\u00f9 la profondeur d&rsquo;eau \u00e9tait suffisante et les temp\u00e9ratures relativement basses. Cependant, sa grande f\u00e9condit\u00e9 est un atout majeur, et selon la p\u00e9pini\u00e8re Latour-Marliac, devenue par la suite une destination touristique, c&rsquo;est la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 id\u00e9ale pour am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;eau. Cependant, on pense qu&rsquo;elle deviendrait un probl\u00e8me majeur si elle poussait en pleine terre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">C&rsquo;est une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s myst\u00e9rieuse, et sa culture en pots pour n\u00e9nuphars peut s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer difficile. De taille moyenne \u00e0 grande, elle peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme telle, mais sa forte capacit\u00e9 de reproduction la rend difficile \u00e0 ma\u00eetriser.
